OIC Secretary General condemns the twin suicide attacks on a Mosque in Mubi, Northeastern Nigeria

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Youssef Al Othaimeen has condemned in the strongest terms the heinous and cowardly terrorist attacks on worshippers during afternoon prayers at a Mosque in Mubi, Adamawa State, Northeastern Nigeria on Tuesday, 1st May 2018 by members of Boko Haram leading to the death of 27 people and injuring dozens of others.

The Secretary General expressed his deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria over this tragedy, and wished for a speedy and full recovery of the injured. He underlined the need to hold the perpetrators, organizers, financers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism accountable by bringing them to justice, and urged the citizens to continue to cooperate actively with the authorities in this regard.

Dr. Al Othaimeen reaffirmed that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitute a serious threat to the peace and security of the region, and pledged OIC’s full support to Nigeria in her efforts to eradicate the menace.
